  • Proactive, fast learner, and willing to wear many hats
  • Self-directed with the ability to achieve work goals with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously

Desired / Preferred Skills

These aren’t required but would make a candidate stand out:

  • Bilingual ability — Spanish proficiency strongly preferred given the focus on underserved small business communities in Southern California
  • Knowledge of utility programs — Familiarity with SDG&E, SCE, PG&E, or IOU energy efficiency programs, including incentive structures and compliance requirements
  • Technical energy knowledge — Understanding of common direct install measures such as LED lighting, refrigeration upgrades, HVAC controls, and compressed air systems
  • CRM or program management tools — Experience with Hubspot, or similar platforms used to track contractor pipelines and project milestones
  • Environmental justice awareness — Familiarity with disadvantaged community (DAC) designations, CalEnviroScreen, or equity-focused program delivery frameworks
  • Contractor licensing knowledge — Basic understanding of California contractor licensing (CSLB), bonding, insurance requirements, and subcontracting compliance
  • Grant or program reporting — Experience supporting reporting obligations tied to ratepayer-funded or government-administered programs
  • Relationship building across cultures — Proven ability to build trust with business owners and contractors from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Basic project management methodology — Familiarity with project management frameworks (PMP, Agile, or similar) to keep multiple concurrent projects on track
  • Training or coaching experience — Ability to onboard and coach contractors on program requirements, quality standards, and customer service expectations
