Josephine Fleming
PRESIDENTJo has over 30 years experience in the environmental and sustainability realm in a wide breadth of scientific research, environmental remediation, commercial and industrial pollution prevention, environmental outcome data and community-based programs. She has worked for large environmental consulting firms, corporations, learning institutions and local governments. She established numerous Green Business Programs, ground-breaking sustainability programs, and served as the founding Executive Director for the California Green Business Network and now volunteers on their Advisory Board. Jo currently leads Environmental Innovations as President.
Julianne Rhodes
VICE PRESIDENTJulianne brings decades of cross-sector expertise to her role as Vice President, spanning hazardous materials compliance, engineering management, and environmental science. She has managed municipal and industrial NPDES permit programs and led Short-lived Climate Pollutant Reduction Strategy (SB 1383) implementation across three jurisdictions. Julianne also leads development of two web-based platforms: GreenBizTracker, which supports Green Business certification programs serving over 10,000 California businesses and licensed in eight additional states, and EI's Sustainable Start platform.
Lawrence Nussbaum
VICE PRESIDENTLawrence Nussbaum is a sustainability strategist with 25+ years of experience advancing environmental programs for public agencies, nonprofits, and mission-driven businesses. As Vice President at Environmental Innovations, he leads strategy and program delivery for initiatives including Green Business certification, foodware reduction, reusable systems, and organics recovery across California. He has also held leadership roles in sustainability certification, responsible sourcing, green technology, natural foods, and environmental nonprofits. He holds a master’s degree from the Yale School of the Environment.
Amy Gross
VICE PRESIDENTAmy Gross is Vice President of Sustainability Programs, leading initiatives to reduce environmental impacts and advance ESG goals. She previously served as Sustainability Principal at L3Harris, managing programs across 40 global sites and implementing projects like a stormwater reuse system saving over 20 million gallons annually. Amy also led ESG strategy at Joby Aviation and directed Santa Cruz County’s Environmental Compliance Program, co-founding the Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz and an M.S. in Sustainability Leadership from Arizona State University. Amy is a certified Qualified Industrial Stormwater Professional (QISP).
Lacey Raak
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CAGBNAs Executive Director of the California Green Business Network, Lacey serves communities throughout the State of California supporting community-level economic development and a more sustainable and environmentally-responsive business sector. Lacey began her career at the City of Monterey, supporting sustainable transportation and the development of their first Climate Action Plan. She then worked for 12 years in Higher Education Sustainability as the Director of Sustainability at UC Santa Cruz and CSU Monterey Bay, where she developed and supported innovative initiatives, integrated sustainability into long-term plans and policies and helped build a culture of sustainability within an institutional setting. She also leads a team of Sustainability Outreach Specialists serving municipalities in the Monterey Bay Area.
Jenn McNeil
SENIOR DIRECTOR OF ENERGY PROGRAMSJenn McNeil is the Sr. Director of Energy Programs at Environmental Innovations, focused on expanding access to equitable, high-impact clean energy solutions. With over 20 years of experience in utility-funded energy programs, she brings deep expertise in program design, vendor management, and community-centered implementation. Jenn builds strong partnerships with CCAs, RENs, and local stakeholders to ensure small and underserved businesses benefit from energy efficiency and decarbonization programs.
Jeremy Jackson
DIRECTOR OF ENERGY FIELD OPERATIONSJeremy Jackson brings over 20 years of hands-on energy efficiency experience to his role as Director of Energy Field Operations. He leads EI's field presence in Southern California, conducting outreach and energy assessments for small businesses with an emphasis on historically underserved communities. Over his career, Jeremy has held roles spanning outreach, technical sales, and utility incentive management across energy efficiency and electrification programs, enrolling hundreds of businesses and guiding participants from assessment to project completion. He has deep expertise in HVAC, lighting, and retrofit measures, and is passionate about expanding equitable access to clean energy solutions in Southern California.
Anna Hirst
MARKETING DIRECTORAnna Hirst is a Marketing Director with over 20 years of experience advancing environmental initiatives through strategic communications and digital media. At Environmental Innovations, she leads brand development, digital strategy, and marketing across multiple environmental programs and contracts. Anna brings a powerful blend of strategic vision and hands-on expertise spanning high-impact marketing campaigns, large-scale community events, digital innovation, and environmental education programs that inspire action. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies, Policy and Planning from UC Santa Cruz and is passionate about translating complex environmental issues into compelling, impactful content.
Maria Corona
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER AND EQUITY CO-CHAIRRaised in Los Angeles, Corona is a bilingual sustainability professional focused on equitable environmental solutions. She leads the City of Ventura's Green Business Program and serves as Equity Co-Chair for the California Green Business Network, advocating for frontline communities. Working with Regional Energy Networks (RENs) and Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs), she connects businesses with clean energy services and cost-saving opportunities. Corona also supports San Diego's Small Business Saver Program and advises businesses on energy efficiency through direct installation and program layering. With expertise in zero waste, SB 1383 compliance, and bilingual outreach, she brings technical skill and community trust to every program she leads.
Jakki Castorena-Davila
BILINGUAL PROGRAMS MANAGERAs EI’s Monterey Bay Area Bilingual Programs Manager, Jakki leads sustainability initiatives that connect Green Business certification, solid waste compliance, stormwater outreach, and environmental education to advance community resilience and environmental justice. Drawing on her experience in public outreach, partnership development, and bilingual engagement, she works to ensure historically underserved communities have equitable access to sustainability resources and opportunities. Her work focuses on building local capacity and fostering collaborative solutions that support both the Monterey Bay Area and broader sustainability goals.
Bryton Mays
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY MANAGERBryton Mays is a bilingual Green Business Consultant who oversees San Mateo County’s Green Business Program. He also supports foodware outreach in the Bay Area and the CAGBN’s Sustainable Funding Committee. His passion for helping small businesses make practical sustainable changes stems from his background as a U.S. Army Airborne Medic and years of experience working in small businesses. He earned an MBA in Sustainable Solutions from Presidio Graduate School and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's in International Business. Additionally, he holds the International Society of Sustainability Professions Sustainability Excellence Associate (ISSP-SEA) certification.
Natalia Bogolasky
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY MANAGERNatalia is a bilingual Sustainability Manager working with the California Green Business Network across Southern California, leading programs for the Cities of Beverly Hills and Riverside. She guides businesses through key sustainability areas, including energy efficiency, pollution prevention, waste reduction, and water conservation. She also coordinates energy efficiency programs designed to deliver solutions to historically underserved businesses, leading outreach strategies and community engagement efforts that promote equitable access to sustainability resources, clean energy solutions, and funding opportunities. Previously, Natalia worked with the Chilean Plastic Pact, driving initiatives toward a circular economy for plastics.
Courtney Faulkner
SOFTWARE SYSTEMS OVERSIGHT MANAGERCourtney Faulkner is the Software Systems Oversight Manager at Environmental Innovations, where she manages and aligns the organization's software systems—including Sustainable Start, GreenBizTracker, HubSpot, and Google Workspace. Working closely with the VP of Technology, she evaluates workflow needs, coordinates developers, and implements tools that streamline operations and strengthen environmental outcome reporting. With expertise in CRM customization, software procurement, and system integration, Courtney helps ensure EI staff and clients have reliable, intuitive systems that support their work.
Saburi Sai
SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANT & MARKETING SPECIALISTSaburi Sai is a Sustainability Consultant and Marketing Specialist with expertise in sustainability program implementation, business outreach, and strategic communications. She has experience managing Green Business Programs and supporting regional energy efficiency initiatives by connecting businesses with incentive programs, providing technical assistance, and helping participants navigate available resources. Saburi specializes in digital marketing, social media strategy, content creation, graphic design, and video production, helping increase program visibility, engagement, and participation.
Nancy Robles
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTNancy is a Native Spanish-speaking Sustainability Consultant with a passion for building more sustainable communities. Based in the Bay Area, she manages a diverse portfolio of energy efficiency projects and leads reusables outreach initiatives across the Bay Area, while also supporting several Green Business Programs within the California Green Business Network. Nancy brings a hands-on approach to working with business owners, from home daycares to brick-and-mortar storefronts, and draws on her background in LEED certification, technical account management, and environmental education.
Claudia Villalta-Mejia
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTClaudia Villalta-Mejia is a bilingual sustainability consultant who supports sustainability projects across the Monterey Bay Area and has a background in corporate sustainability. As the lead coordinator for the Santa Cruz County Green Business Program, she certifies dozens of small businesses annually, connecting businesses with grants, resources, and community services. Claudia also guides jurisdictions and businesses in the Cities of Capitola and Scotts Valley on SB 1383 requirements, simplifying state and local regulations through targeted education, outreach, and technical assistance. She is proud to support local communities through Environmental Innovations’ environmental programs.
Kori Nielsen
SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTFor over nine years, Kori has worked to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainability across diverse sectors. Specializing in energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability certifications, Kori has developed strategies that help organizations measurably reduce their environmental footprint. In addition to leading the Santa Barbara County Green Business Program, she coordinates network development and programs for the California Green Business Network (CAGBN), supporting statewide sustainability initiatives and partnerships. She is a recipient of the 2022 AASHE Sustainability Award and holds several professional accreditations, including TRUE Advisor, LEED GA, and EcoDistricts AP.
Dharma Bartram

At Environmental Innovations, she specializes in foodware outreach and leads field outreach for sustainable foodware policy programs in San Mateo County and the City of Cupertino. She supports both EI and the California Green Business Network with expertise in sustainable foodware, edible food recovery, events and development. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Communication and has previously worked at a leading ad agency.
