FOUNDER/CEO, SCIENTIST, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR CA GREEN BUSINESS NETWORKJo has over 20 years experience in the environmental and sustainability realm in a wide breadth of scientific research, environmental remediation, commercial & industrial pollution prevention, environmental outcome data and community-based programs. She has worked for large environmental consulting firms, for technology companies, for learning institutions and for local government. She has worked to establish numerous Green Business Programs, establish ground-breaking materials management programs, and serves as the Executive Director of the California Green Business Network.

Julianne Rhodes
VICE PRESIDENTJulianne gained extensive project, personnel, and contract management experience during her 12 years as engineering manager at Cruzio.com and subsequently earned a Masters in Applied Marine and Watershed Science. Her focus on water quality and conservation efforts has led to projects working for the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District, Coastal Watershed Council, Farmers for Water Quality, the Watershed Institute and Campus Planning at CSUMB, the Greater Monterey Integrated Regional Water Management Group, City of Scotts Valley, and the City of Salinas.

Shawn Orgel-Olson
VICE PRESIDENTShawn has over 13 years of enterprise and government sustainability experience. He started his career at Disney Consumer Products where he worked in the Sustainable Business Practices and International Labor Standards groups. In 2015 he joined the City of Santa Cruz where he ran the City’s successful Green Business Program. Since 2017 he has led marketing and sustainability projects for numerous clients including the City/County of San Francisco, County of San Mateo, and the California Green Business Network.

Brooke Wright
VICE PRESIDENTBrooke has more than 10 years of experience developing communications, marketing, and outreach solutions for mission-driven organizations. She brings substantial program, product, and team management experience to EI. Brooke manages the regional Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program and supports our business development and strategic initiatives.

Lawrence Nussbaum
VICE PRESIDENTLawrence has over 20 years of experience working with environmental certification and market-based sustainability programs. Lawrence was a leader in the development of Forest Stewardship (FSC) certification, he also created the regional Salmon-Safe certification program, and managed several market-based sustainability initiatives for clients in food and agriculture, textiles, furniture, manufacturing, and green building. He also led business strategy in the organic food sector for Full Circle Organics and managed client services for 25 certification and Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) offerings for the international sustainability firm, SCS Global Services.

Sandrine Cassidy
SENIOR SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTSandrine Cassidy is dedicated to helping cities, businesses, nonprofits and schools implement leadership standards and programs in waste reduction, recycling maximization, energy and water conservation, pollution control and green purchasing. She has helped over 500 businesses adopt green standards and get certified. She is an active board member of the California Green Business Network and is the Sustainability Coordinator for the Culver City Unified School District. She holds a LEED Green Associate accreditation and California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) Professional Certificate in Sustainable Resource Management.

Maria Corona
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER AND EQUITY CHAIRCorona is a bilingual sustainability professional with social media marketing, design, and environmental justice expertise. She oversees social media marketing and the Equity Committee for the California Green Business Network. She started as the City of Watsonville Program Director where she worked with English and Spanish-speaking businesses. She has experience in waste reduction & recycling as she is implementing SB 1383 organics recycling and food recovery for three jurisdictions and as the previous zero waste coordinator at CSU Monterey Bay. Before joining EI, Corona was part of a team at Ecology Action working with underrepresented communities.

Paul May
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTPaul is a bilingual sustainability professional. He previously worked for the San Francisco Department of the Environment where he assisted businesses to become certified "green" through one of the most robust Green Business Programs in the State. As part of SFE's Outreach Team, he helped the City achieve its Climate Action Plan goals by engaging with businesses and community groups. Paul also has a background in renewable/solar energy sales.

Anna Hirst
SENIOR MARKETING PRODUCTION MANAGERAnna is a Project and Marketing Manager with over 20 years of experience in the environmental sector. She coordinates Marketing and Graphic Design for Environmental Innovations, the California Green Business Network, various Green Business Programs, and also manages the CDFA Healthy Refrigeration Technical Assistance program. Anna is a creative digital specialist who effortlessly shifts between numerous roles, including marketing communications, program management and implementation, and digital production. Anna graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Environmental Studies.

Timaree Nelson
SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTTimaree is the Director of the Carlsbad Green Business Program in San Diego County. Prior to joining EI, she worked with the County of San Diego's Recycling Section. She also has extensive experience with food recovery through her work with the non-profit ProduceGood.

Saburi Sai
SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTSaburi is a Green Business Consultant with digital marketing, graphic design, and project management expertise. Prior to joining EI full time, she gained extensive experience in sustainability with the Green Business program at Ecology Action and as a Digital Marketing Specialist at EI. She works to support and certify businesses enrolled in the regional Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program while assisting with events and marketing efforts.

Jakki Castorena-Davila
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY MANAGERJakki is a bilingual sustainability consultant with a background in many industries and experience in sales, social media marketing, design and outreach in low income communities. She brings the passion, determination and understanding she gained while working with local resource-constrained communities to any project she is a part of. Before joining EI, Jakki worked with the City of Watsonville on water pollution prevention strategies and neighborhood cleanup programs.

Luis Vizcardo
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANT AND EQUITY CHAIRLuis Vizcardo comes to Environmental Innovations from El Concilio of San Mateo County. Since 2020 Luis worked with E.I. and El Concilio to expand Green Business Certification and small business COVID Protocols. He has more than 20 years of experience working to support San Mateo County businesses in Spanish and English. He is a valued team member with on-air media experience publicizing programs, events and initiatives. His focus on interpersonal relationships has enhanced E.I. programs, establishing connections with numerous small businesses and Mexican Consulates, from San Francisco to San José, to Fresno and beyond.

Rilynn Misa
SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTRilynn is a coordinator and sustainability outreach professional for Alameda County Green Business. Her passion for sustainability comes from her experiences with restoration projects, in-field data collection, agricultural practices using permaculture methodology. She has her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a focus on Sustainable communities from California State University Monterey Bay.

Nancy Robles
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTNancy is a bilingual sustainability consultant and outreach professional in Kern and Fresno County where she runs two Green Business Programs. She comes to EI with experience in LEED certification, technical account management, sales, and environmental education. Her love for nature and passion for sustainability drives her to help make her community a more sustainable place to live and work.

Bryan Garcia
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTBryan is a Bilingual Sustainability Consultant whose passion for the Environment began at the University of California, Davis. He majored in International Agriculture Development and also took the initiative to be a part of various Internships and programs. These past experiences helped spark an interest in solving real world pressing issues that now fuel his dedication to the work he does today. He has taken the skills he has adopted over time as a Problem Solver, Communicator, Leader, and Learner to come back to his Community he is native to, Salinas, California. He is proud to help underserved communities and has plans to make a better future for those generations to come.

Claudia Villalta-Mejia
BILINGUAL SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTClaudia Villalta-Mejia comes to EI with experience in both corporate and university campus sustainability programs. Claudia graduated with honors from California State University, Long Beach and majored in Film and Electronic Arts, with a minor in Environmental Science and Policy. She pioneered sustainability initiatives in student films, which at the time was a new topic for many student filmmakers. She spent nearly 4 years working on corporate sustainability programs including eliminating single use-plastics, implementing programs for television shows and feature films, and strategizing carbon mitigation. As a Santa Cruz County local who was raised to value and appreciate the people, animals and habitat around her, Claudia is thrilled to reconnect and give back to her community.

Kori Nielsen
SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTKori passionately supports businesses, educational institutions, and nonprofits along the central coast in order to accomplish the common goal of sustainability education and achievement. She has worked for the Central Coast Green Building Council, Sustainable Future, and Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, which is where she earned her degree in Environmental Management. She is now actively leading the Santa Barbara County Green Business Program. Kori is a recipient of a 2022 AASHE Sustainability award, and a diverse assortment of accreditations; most notably: TRUE Advisor, LEED GA, and EcoDistricts AP.

Liz Sullivan
FINANCE DIRECTORLiz has a rich and varied 20+ year history of helping small businesses, startups, and nonprofits, to thrive and grow, sustainably. With a background in the public sector as well as Fortune 500 multinationals, she has brought financial best practices and a solid and sustainable business model to support strategic planning and decision making in senior management teams.
